Catalina Club is proud to collaborate with Wandering Warriors to share the powerful stories of ex-SAS servicemen fighting in Afghanistan in the award-winning documentary film, Bravery & Betrayal: The True Story of the SAS in Afghanistan.
On Sunday 26 October, Bravery & Betrayal producer Simon J Heath and SAS Veteran ‘Horse’ will visit Catalina Club to discuss the important messages and findings within the film.
The film’s screening comes in partnership with Wandering Warriors, a charity dedicated to support veteran causes through impactful fundraising events.
Produced over a period of five years, Bravery & Betrayal was initiated by ex-SAS servicemen to set the record straight and tell their own story. More than 30 veterans, political leaders including Kevin Rudd, Tony Abbott and John Howard, and family members were interviewed to tell a story of unwavering courage and honesty.
Since the conflict, many of the 400 SAS soldiers involved felt their service and sacrifice had been forgotten amongst the turbulence of politics and negative headlines.
“SAS soldiers were the first to deploy to Afghanistan, bore the brunt of the intense fighting, while also deploying to Iraq during the same period”, says an ex-SAS soldier in Bravery & Betrayal. “We shouldered the heaviest combat to alleviate pressure on our fellow diggers and to support the broader mission objectives.
“By dismantling networks, gathering actionable intelligence, and neutralising threats before they reached Australian soil, the SAS created a buffer that ensured Australians sleep safe at night – most without ever knowing how close the threats had come. What Australians are also not aware of is the sacrifices SAS soldiers and their families made due to the commitment required.”

Following the documentary screening, viewers will have an exclusive opportunity to speak with film producer, Simon and SAS veteran Horse (pictured above with his service dog, Preston).
“At their core, SAS soldiers are grounded in the same values as everyday Australians. They are fathers, brothers, sons and friends. Men who sacrifice time with loved ones to serve their country with unwavering dedication.”
Those attending the screening, and anyone willing to support the Wandering Warriors cause, are welcome to submit a donation to help transform the lives of special forces veterans.
Bravery & Betrayal: The True Story of the SAS in Afghanistan will show at Catalina Club from 6:00pm Sunday 26 October. Tickets are free but limited. Secure your ticket here.
