Record field at 2026 Catalina Ladies Veterans Open
Oroya Mitchell has taken the Ladies Veterans Open A Grade title with 41 points, narrowly beating the 2025 champion.
On Monday 20 July, 76 South Coast Lady Veteran Golfers contested the 2026 Catalina Club Ladies Veterans Open with brilliant, clear winter skies creating perfect competition conditions.
In the largest field to date, it was Catalina Club member Oroya Mitchell who prevailed in A Grade with a great score of 41 points from the 2025 champion, Marie Muriwai from Tuross Head with 38 points. Following closely on the field and in the leaderboard was Maureen Cahill and Debbie Coleman from Catalina, with respective scores of 38 and 37.
In B Grade, we saw a continuation of great scores with Denise Bowyer of Mollymook Golf Club and Eileen Davis from Catalina both with 39 points, with Denise narrowly winning the countback. Local member Pat Sly, took out third place with 36 points, closely followed by a couple of Tuross Head members, Leonie Doolan and Pam Alexander on 35 points.

In C Grade, Catalina Club saw the day’s best score with Dianne Maguire asserting her dominance with a great score of 44 points. Dianne beat home her fellow club member at Mollymook, Jacqueline Bowen who had 37 points. Following the Mollymook duo were 3 Catalina members, Sue Charls, Nanette Childs and Helen Wise who all scored 36 points.
The Lady Members Committee have once again hosted a brilliant Ladies Veterans Open and coordinated the largest field to date to show that golf on the South Coast continues to prosper.
Next on the Lady Members calendar is the 2026 Ladies Open on October 16 to 18, which will see a huge field of the state’s best golfers compete for the Open title.
