Friday afternoons at Catalina
For many golfers, Friday afternoon is the only part of the week that feels truly their own.
That is where Catalina SKINS fits in.
Played every Friday afternoon at Catalina Club, SKINS has become one of the Club’s strongest social golf communities. It brings together golfers for relaxed competition, plenty of laughs, a few brave shots, and the traditional catch up afterwards in Athol’s Sports Bar.
Built around the classic “Skins” format, every hole creates an opportunity. One great shot can change the day, which keeps the golf enjoyable for players of all standards.
More than anything, SKINS has become a place for people to unwind, connect and enjoy the game with good company.
Who Is SKINS For?
SKINS was built for golfers balancing work, family and everyday life.
Many members cannot commit to regular weekend competitions, while others simply want a consistent group to play with at the end of the week.
The group welcomes players of all skill levels. You do not need to be a low-marker or experienced competition golfer to take part. If you enjoy golf, good company and a social atmosphere, you will fit in comfortably.
Some players arrive knowing only a handful of people. It usually does not stay that way for long. You do not need to be a Golfing Member to join in. Just book in, organise your cart and green fees, and join in! There is a mix of Stableford and Ambrose formats through the month, all finishing with a BBQ sausage sizzle on the Golfers Lounge patio next to the Golf Shop.
Why Join SKINS?
Because golf is better when it brings people together.
While the Friday competition is at the centre of the group, SKINS has grown into much more than a weekly round. Members regularly support charity fundraising, organise trips away to other courses and build genuine friendships through the game.
The format itself encourages attacking golf and rewards bold play, which creates plenty of memorable moments across the afternoon.
But the real value of SKINS is the community around it. A round of golf rolls naturally into a few cold beers, stories from the day and time spent with people who enjoy the same things.
It is social golf with a strong sense of belonging. We support charities and people that matter through our fundraising and you can see our updates in the Golf Newsletter and Catalina Club Facebook posts.
