Peard claims Catalina Club’s 2026 Ladies Club Champion title

15-year-old Emma Peard delivered a stunning performance this month to claim the Ladies Club Champion title.

The 2026 Catalina Ladies Club Championships wrapped up on Wednesday 13 May, with one of the Club’s frontrunning juniors emerging as Champion.

15-year-old Emma Peard produced a composed final round to claim her first Catalina Ladies Club Championship title, overtaking 2025 Champion Bronte Eppelstun who held a three-shot lead over both Peard and Marg Dickinson in the morning. Chasing a third consecutive championship, Eppelstun remained steady through 15 holes before Peard delivered a remarkable finish.

Showing maturity well beyond her years, Emma played her final three holes in 1-under par, striking a series of exceptional shots to close out the championship.

Marg Dickinson closed out her 2026 Club Championship campaign as runner up.

Already a two-time A Grade Nett Champion and recent Ladies Foursomes winner alongside Marg Dickinson, Peard’s latest achievement highlights the strength of Catalina’s junior development program.

In the graded events, Stacey South secured the A Grade Nett title ahead of Marnie Schuhmann. B Grade honours went to Alison Lee, who overturned a one-shot deficit in the final round to win by six shots from Alison Lancaster.

Margaret Shepherd claimed the B Grade Nett Championship following a strong closing round of 76 nett, finishing ahead of Sue De Mamiel. C Grade delivered another close contest, with Susan Bourke fighting back from four shots behind to claim victory from Sandra McCamley. In the C Grade Nett division, Lyn Pellow’s consistency across all three rounds saw her finish six shots clear of Sonya Dohnt.
